 On August 22, 2010 Gori University celebrated the University Holiday – the day of establishing Gori University as a result of combining two Universities, former LEPL Tskhinvali and former LEPL Gori State Universities. Attending the meeting were Acting Rector, Professor Aleksandre Mghebrishvili and faculty- members. Mr. Mghebrishvili spoke about the historical past of Tskhinvali and Gori Universities, the importance of their combining and the achievements of that period. At the end, he congratulated all those who attended and wished professional success to all of them. Addressing the audience was Davit Bidzinashvili (Administration Supervisor), Nugzar Abramishvili (Dean of Social Sciences, Business and Law) and Tsiuri Duruli (Chief Specialist of Education Process Management Service). | |

| On August 12, 2010 Universal and Public Discussion Organization Committee of the Georgian Parliament held open discussion about the new constitution project at Gori University. The aim of the meeting was to reveal opinions of mass media representatives, experts, interested people and community in the process of working out the new project of the Georgian Constitution. Attending the meeting were: Gori University Acting Rector, Professor Aleksandre Mghebrishvili, Administration representatives, faculty-members, representatives of non-governmental organizations, press and television. Talking about the introduction of changes in the constitution were Mr. Avtandil Demetrashvili (Chairperson of the Committee), Tengiz Sharmanashvili (Vice-Chairperson of the Committee), Giorgi Kverechkhiladze (Member of the Committee), Dimitri Dzagnidze (Vice-Minister of the Georgian Justice, member of the Committee), Kakhaber Kurashvili (Member of the Committee) and Soso Tsintsadze (Political Science Expert, member of the Committee). At the end, the guests gave exhaustive answers to the questions of all those who attended. | |

 On August 7, 2010 Gori University Administration representatives, faculty-members and students participated in the action, held in the center of Gori, where almost five thousand candles, with the form of the Georgian map were lit in colors of the Georgian flag. On August 8, the above-mentioned members participated in the action for Georgia`s integrity and unity – Stop Occupation! At the bottom of Gori Fortress, by the Heroes Memorial, they honored the memory of all those lost in the war and held the live chain of Unity. | |

| On August 4 of the current year, visiting Gori University were University Professors of the Polish town Gdansk: Kuba Iakubovich, Kristof Kaminon and Iakub Botulski. The guests looked around the University`s building, which was under construction, Research Center for History and Archaeology, renovated computer center, Edward Raupp English Library and Political Science Center. The Polish Professors posed a question before the Gdansk University Authorities about the exchange programs between the students and faculty-members of Gori and Gdansk Universities. | |
