On June 3-4, 2010 two-day training was held for Gori University students. The first day of the training was led by the journalists of the magazine “Tskheli Shokoladi” (Hot Chocolate), Nino Lomadze, Anna Kordzaia-Samadashvili and the journalist of the magazine “Liberali” (Liberal), Giorgi Tskhadaia. The second day of the training was conducted by the poet Giorgi Kekelidze and the journalists of the magazine “Liberali” (Liberal) Natia Guliashvili and Giorgi Tskhadaia. The topic of the meeting was “Sovietization”. The students were chosen according to the questionnaires, filled in beforehand. A discussion was held around the discussed questions, at the end of which the film “Farewell, Lenin!” was shown. The poet, Giorgi Kekelidze, spoke about the writers and poets, who lived in the Soviet period and were forced to lead antireligious campaign and praise the Soviet era. Its aim was to create a new cult. Mr. Kekelidze presented to the audience several examples of such kind of poems. Next day, at the end of the training, the participants were divided into four groups and each group wrote a project. They gave their presentation and the winner was revealed. At the end of the seminar, the most active participants were awarded books. The speakers expressed their hope that they will again be given a chance to cooperate with Gori University in the future. |

On June 29, 2010 at Gori University Research Center for History and Archaeology, an archaeologist Givi Ghambashidze delivered a public lecture, titled “Georgian Cultural Monuments in the North Caucasia and the tomb of Vakhtang VI in Astrakhan”. Attending the lecture were Gori University Rector, Professor Zaza Tsotniashvili, University faculty-members, students and others. The reporter presented to Gori University his published books and expressed his hope, that he will have the chance to visit Gori University once more and speak on interesting themes. |

On June 28, 2010 show games were held at Gori Tennis Courts. Attending the games were Shida Kartli Tennis Federation President, Mr. Zaza Tsotniashvili, a member of Georgian Tennis Federation, Archil Kekelia, tennis players from Gori University and their instructors, and also tennis player students and their parents. |

On June 25-26 Gori University Humanities students visited historical and archaeological monuments of the West Georgia. They got acquainted with the sacred places of Gelati, Motsameta and Ubisa with great interest, and also examined rich collections of the museums in Zugdidi and Nakalakevi. The students also visited the renovated Batumi`s sights. |

| On June 24, 2010 Georgian Cheese Festival was held in Sighnaghi with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of Georgia, Tourism Department and Ministry of Agriculture. Its aim was to demonstrate agriculture, particularly, dairy produce. 900 delegates from 26 countries examined the exhibition at the Festival. Small and medium enterprises from different regions, small peasant and family farms, and Gori University Vocational Retraining Program Enterprise participated in it. Different kinds of cheese, pasteurized milk, yogurt and sour cream under the name “Nebiera” from Gori University Education Enterprise were displayed at the Festival. The students, producers of the dairy produce, were offering it to taste to the observers. The production of Gori University Education Enterprise was liked so much, that even the exhibition process was led by the student in the T-shirt and cap from “Nebiera”... |
