 On August 2, 2010 final year awards ceremony was held at Gigi Khupenia Park near the Gori University second building. Attending the ceremony were faculty-members, students, invited guests, representatives of mass media and television. The ceremony was opened by Gori University Rector, Professor Zaza Tsotniashvili. | |

06.07.2010 First Production of “Nebiera”

| Milk processing mini-enterprise was opened, existed with the Gori University Vocational Education Center, in the framework of the UN development program`s project “Development of Vocational Education and Trainings Opportunities in Shida Kartli Region”. The mission of the project is to raise professionalism and culture in people, working in the milk-processing sphere, to provide customers with safe, ecologically clean and delicious product. The mini-enterprise offered its product to the hypermarket “Goodwill”. Laboratory examination of the product was held and the enterprise itself was also examined. The production met all the demands and the contract was signed. On July 6, the first production of “Nebiera” was moved to the “Goodwill’s” trading network. | |

 Ministry of Education and National Center for Education Accreditation, in the framework of the European Union Public Services Twinning Program continues to organize Higher Education Institutions Academic Summits and trainings. On July 14, 15 and 16 the 5th Regional Academic Summit was held at Gori University. The theme of the summit was “The possibility of placement in Georgia and experience of France”. Attending the summit was Director of the National Center for Education Accreditation, Mr. Davit Kereselidze, Coordinator of CEIBAL – Tuning Project in Georgia, Mr. Cay Etzold and Rectors and administration representatives of different Higher Institutions of Georgia. Gori University Rector, Professor Zaza Tsotniashvili, spoke about the importance of Vocational Retraining Programs. Mr. Davit Kereselidze, Director of the National Center for Education Accreditation, spoke at large about the importance of the meeting, and noted that the only right way of placement was to prepare professional staff. A Higher Institution must be aware of the demand and prepare appropriate staff. | |

| On July 12, 2010 a discussion, titled “Strategic view – Conflict Regions of Georgia” was held at Gori University. Participating in the discussion were Tbilisi, Batumi, Gori State Universities and Professors and students of the Institute of Political Science. Speaking about the theme were Gori University Rector, Professor Zaza Tsotniashvili, Director of the Institute of Political Science, Professor Malkhaz Matsaberidze, students: Sophia Salia, Ioseb Zhvania, Davit Kakhiani, Levan Toria and Aneta Dzadzua. At the end of the meeting, questions were put and exhaustive answers were given. The discussion participants expressed their hope, that similar meetings will be held in the future too and they will support mutual closeness. | |
