an archeological excavation

A project “Archeology with the young generation near the occupation line”, financed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth and an archeological excavation, within the framework of this project, is carried out in Kvemo Nikozi. On September 30, Giorgi Sosiashvili, Ioseb Alimbarashvili, Dr. Giorgi Mindiashvili, students: Salome Geldiashvili and Ana Ghonghadze visited the archeological site. In one of the excavation places (N 2) scientists found fragments of bronze items, fine terracotta dishes with reddish color, Small obsidian pieces which are considered connected to Trialeti-Javakheti area by Dr. Giorgi Mindiashvili. Moreover, the top of a flint sickle was found at the site, which makes it obvious that there was a settlement, villages founded on the hills and their workshops in the late bronze and early iron era.
