On September 27,2016,  The  80th anniversary celebration  of Akaki Bidzinashvili, well-known lyricist and public figure ,was held at GSTU. Prof. Giorgi Sosiashvili welcomed the audience and talked about Mr. Bidzinashvili’s lifetime achievement, his dedication and contribution to his hometown and the university. Poet was awarded Iakob Gogebashvili Medal. Giorgi Khorbaladze, Prof. Eldar Mamistvalashvili, Giorgi Pareshishvili, Jemal Injia, Vano Chkhikvadze, Meri Martskvishvili congratulated the poet his 80th anniversary.  Students from his home village, Bershueti, recited  his poems.
