On December 15.2017, GSTU hosted Georgian-Turkish International Scientific Conference with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Rize University.

The conference started with minute of silence as a respect to late student of GSTU. The conference was open by Rector of Gori State Teaching University prof. Giorgi Sosiashvili. In his speech , Mr. Sosiashvili talked about the importance of close and fruitful cooperation between two universities. Other speeches were made by Prof. Ali Bilgini and Prof. Nebi Gumush. After the plenary meeting, work was continued in sections.

66 articles were presented at the conference, 30 among them were from 7 different universities of Turkey.
