In 2020, Gori State Teaching University won the Erasmus + Jean Monnet Activities (JMA) Competition and received support in implementing the Jean Monnet Module "Discover the EU in the Association Agreement" (EUEAA). The curriculum "EU, Association Agreement and Legal Approximation" was developed within the module. The course is integrated into master's degree programs in law and public administration, as well as various graduate programs.

Within the module, a student conference took place on June 10, 2022. The name of the student conference was "EU and Gori". Conference reports and articles reflected the cases, projects and results initiated and implemented by EU assistance instruments within Shida Kartli (as a whole in the region, or in Gori or in a specific village).
The conference aimed for GSTU students to seek official information and explore what projects are being implemented with EU assistance directly in the region where they live and study. The results of such research will be presented pubicly. Results will serve:
- Raising awareness among the population of Shida Kartli about the European Union;
- Increasing the role of GSMU in combating misinformation and strengthening strategic communication on European integration policy;
- Development of students' research skills, and, in general, diversification and strengthening of research activities at the University;
- Raising the role of youth and motivating them to engage in public or other activities.
