Within the framework of Regional Scientific festival 2026, a joint scientific conference for teachers and Shida Kartli school teachers took place at GSU on September 18, 2026. The conference was dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Jacob Gogebashvili “დედა ენა”. Mr. Aleksandre Mghebrishvili, Mr. Zurab Zurabashvili and Mr. Levan Midodashvili gave opening speeches before the plenary sessions. The following speakers addressed the plenary session: Mr. Vianor Akhalaia, Mr. Levan Bregvadze, Mr. Giorgi Gogolashvili and Mr. Tamaz Khmaladze. Mr. Aleksandre Mghebrishvili gave an Honorary medal and diploma to Mr. Tamaz Khmaladze for his 80th anniversary and his dedication to scientific work and university.

The rector of the university along with Mr. Giorgi Gogolashvili, the author of the idea and event participants, opened the Auditorium of “დედა ენა“. The main goal of the space is to popularize the Georgian language and literature, enrich the learning process and create another academic space for students. More than 100 authors/ co-authors gave speeches in the following sections: education, mathematics and information technologies, natural science, sports, Georgian language and literature, foreign language and literature and history.
